On October 14, the SisterHouse board hosted their annual fundraiser, The Grateful Gathering. Friends and benefactors, joined the staff, board and residents of SisterHouse for delicious, creative appetizers and the simple pleasure of spending time together.
Honored this year during the event were Sr. Claire Marie Czerwiec, SSND for her many years of service as a SisterHouse board member. Noted were Sr Claire’s efforts to keep the spiritual mission of SisterHouse center to the work of the board, which helped all better understand the mission and values of SisterHouse and SSND.
Also honored was JaShawn Hill, current board member, SisterHouse alum and current executive director of Chicago Survivor. JaShawn was lauded for her many successes since graduating from SisterHouse.
Proceeds from this event will be used to continue the SisterHouse mission as a safe haven for women as they navigate their way to sober, productive members of society.
